It is worth noting that whilst you can create historic entries by backdating recurring invoices in the QuickBooks desktop version, the Online version only allows for the scheduling of future dated transactions. 

The scheduling is, of course, not limited to invoices. You can also schedule bills, cheques , journals etc.
